Waste trucking insurance · Nationwide

Waste trucking insurance for MSW & C&D fleets.

Transfer trailers and walking floors run heavy, run long and run every day. When something goes wrong at highway speed, severity is the whole story. And the coverage has to be sized for it before it happens.

Most operations that run msw & c&d trucking work also run other parts of the chain. The program underwrites the whole operation together. See the other segments below or start from the program overview.

Waste trucking insurance FAQ

Common questions, straight answers.

For anything specific to your operation, call 978-897-7773 and ask about the Waste Industry Insurance Program.

What federal or state filings do waste trucking fleets need?
Interstate carriers typically need federal operating-authority insurance filings, and some states add their own. Which filings apply depends on your authority, radius and what you haul. It's one of the first things we confirm so a filing gap never takes a truck off the road.
Are we covered for a spill while unloading at a disposal site?
It depends on how the policies are written, which is exactly the problem. Unloading sits in the seam between auto, general liability and pollution forms. The program is placed so loading and unloading pollution is answered on purpose, not by accident.
We use owner-operators. How does that affect coverage?
Owner-operators raise questions about whose auto policy responds, workers' comp status and contractual risk transfer. Handled well, it's routine; handled loosely, it's how fleets end up uninsured for their biggest exposure. We structure it deliberately.
